A culture of cover-up in chemotherapy bungle

Premier Jay Weatherill now has no choice but to establish a broad judicial inquiry into SA Health following damning evidence to the Coroner’s Court concerning victims of the chemotherapy cover-up.

“The failure of the Weatherill Government to alert the family of Johanna Pinxteren to the fact that she had been under-dosed and then claim there had been no deaths as a result of the under-dosing when Mrs Pinxteren was already dead are just the latest shocking revelations in this disgraceful saga,” said Shadow Minister for Health Stephen Wade.

“Nobody can now believe a word the Weatherill Government says with respect to this appalling mistreatment of cancer patients.

“The only way to restore public confidence in SA Health is for the Weatherill Government to establish a full judicial inquiry.”
