The State Liberals have called on the Weatherill Labor Government to immediately end their multi-million dollar Transforming Health advertising campaign.
The State Liberals have received a range of complaints that flyers titled, “Our Veterans deserve the best”, have been distributed across Adelaide spruiking the Transforming Health plan.
This is on top of bus shelter and social media advertising.
There is no mention about the Government’s decision to close the Repat Hospital.
“There is no new information contained in the flyer at all,” said Shadow Minister for Health Stephen Wade.
“This is simply a feel-good exercise by the Weatherill Labor Government.
“The Weatherill Labor Government's latest advertising splurge is more about trying to camouflage thirteen years of Labor mismanagement than providing useful information to the community.”
Parliament has been told that more than $3 million was spent last financial year on Transforming Health advertising.
“Minister Snelling needs to immediately put an end to this ridiculous taxpayer funded political advertising and tell South Australians how much this latest round of ads has cost,” said Mr Wade.
“If the State Government doesn’t have the money to keep the Repat open, they certainly don’t have money to be wasting on political advertising.
“South Australians are going to lose access to health services under Labor’s plan to close the Repat, cut more than 800 hospital beds and downgrade suburban emergency departments.”
